The old saying goes " all good things must come to an end", on Tuesday night at the Kohl Center in front of over 16,000 fans, the Wisconsin Badgers saw their 11 game home winning streak come to an end with a 58-44 loss to the Butler Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs used a very fast paced offense and an intense defense to build up a 15-8 lead mid way thrrough the first half. The Badgers hung tough, and managed to fight their way back to a 20-20 game at the half.
Butler came out strong to open the second half and took a 24-20 lead. As it turned out, from that point on, the Bulldogs would never look back. Brandon Miller nailed a three pointer to give Butler a 39-32 lead with 9:25 remaining. The Bulldogs would continue to lead by margins of six to nine points. Thomas Jackson hit for three with 5:30 remaining to put the Bulldogs ahead by 12 at 49-37.
The Badgers continued to climb out of the hole, but when Vershaw missed an inside shot, that is normally good, the writting was on the wall. Butler cruised home for the big upset win 58-44.
With the loss, the Badgers most likely will not be rated #10 again next week. Wisconsin is now 13-5 on the season. The Badgers return to Big Ten play on Saturday, when they travel to Ann Arbor to play Michigan.
