Headline: Badger Hockey Ends Regular Season with a Win and a Gift
The dissapointment of a long, losing season for retiring head coach Jeff Sauer ended its regular portion on a positive note this past weekend. Wisconsin SWEPT Minnesota Duluth at the Kohl Center including a 5-1 triumph on Saturday night. The Badgers end the regular season at 14-18-4 overall and 12-13-3 in the WCHA. The Badgers secured home-ice for the best of three first round playoffs next weekend.
After the game, several of Sauer's former players that came to the game, presented him with a special retirement gift. It is a trip to the 2003 Masters Golf Tournament. Part of the gift includeda replica of the traditional green winner's jacket.
