Headline: Badger Basketball Wins Big Ten Championship
There have been many memorable victories in the history of Wisconsin Basketball, BUT...... no victory is more memorable or enjoyable as the 74-54 victory the Badgers posted over Michigan on Wednesday February 27, 2002. Kirk Penney scored 21 points and Deven Harris had 21, as FIRST YEAR coach Bo Ryan and his team clinched a share of the Big Ten Championship. The Badgers share the title with Illinois; Indiana; and Ohio State. However..... because the Badgers have a better head to head record, they receive the NUMBER ONE seed in the Big Ten tournament. With the victory, the Badgers have won six straight games. It is the first Big Ten Basketball title for Wisconsin in 55 years! Wisconsin finishes the regular season at 18-11 overall and 11-5 in the Big Ten.
>>>> Way to go- BO!! Thanks for a great season and for taking a bit of the sting away from the less than prosperous football and hockey seasons this year.<<<
Now.... go back to work! and take our Wisconsin Badgers back to the FINAL FOUR.
