Game MVP: Freddie Owens= 3 point game winning shot

Don't look now Badger fans, but the men clad in red and White, who still seem to get no respect, have advanced into the NCAA's round of SWEET 16, and are just TWO wins away from another appearance in the Final Four.

The Badgers did it on Saturday in Spokane, Washington in remarkable fashion. The Badgers were all but dead, as they trailed the Tulsa Golden Hurricane by 13 points with four minutes to play.

The Badgers sparked the come back rally with an initial 11-0 run to pull to with in two at 58-56. Tulsa answered with a basket, but then Harris drove in for a lay-up with 45 seconds remaining to make it 60-58. The Badger defense forced Tulsa into a shot clock violation, giving the Badgers the ball back with 12 seconds to go. Harris took the ball up court, found Freddie Owens open in the left corner, Owens squared up and took the shot for the lead.

Tulsa was called for a baseine violation, and the Badgers just had to touch the ball and bein the celebration!

The victory sends the Badgers onto Minneapolis and the Metrodome next weekend for the Regionals, where its possible they could face MARQUETTE for the Regional Championship for the rights to advance to the Final Four.
