March Sadness continued on Friday for the University of Wisconsin. Friday night, the Badger Women's basketball team LOST in Round 1 of the NCAA Women's tournament, 71-68 to Missouri.
The Badgers seaded number 7,played a game very similar to their male counterparts. The Badgers led the game by as many as ten points in the first half, and appeared poised to roll to a victory leading 64-56 with just over six minutes remaining. Unfortunatly...... the Badgers failed to score a field goal for the final five minutes. The final points came with just over three minutes remaining, when Nina Smith hit a shot to make it 68-61.
After winning the WNIT Championship last year, the Badgers were well poised to make a good run this year in the NCAA, BUT..... like the men, it just wasn't meant to be.
