Headline: Badger Hockey Drops Out of WCHA Final Five
Thursday was not a good day for University of Wisconsin athletics. In the early afternoon, Basketball lost in Round 1 of the NCAA to Georgia State, and then in the evening, the Hockey Badgers lose in the opening game of the WCHA Final Five tournament.
Colorado College defeated the Badgers 4-3. The game was tied at 3-3 with under a minute remaining, and then Peter Senja broke loose and put in the winning shot with only 45 seconds remaining.
If the Badgers had ben able to at least win on Thursday night, they could have locked up an NCAA tournament bid.
Now..... Jeff Sauer and his Badgers will await their fate until the bids are announced on Sunday. The Badgers must cross their finger VERY TIGHTLY in hopes of a bid. They currently have a ranking of ninth. However.... there are four other WCHA teams with a higher ranking.
