The Wisconsin Badgers won their seventh straight game on Saturday by defeating the Iowa Hawkeyes 41-3. In the process, the Badgers clinched a return trip to Pasadena
and the ROSE BOWL!!!!! Unlike last year, when the Badgers
were conference co-champions, this year...... the Badgers are UNDISPUTED Big Ten Conference CHAMPIONS.
Iowa received the opening kick,but were unable to produce anything, and punted after three plays. The Badgers were unable to do much either on their opening drive, and returned the punt. On their second possession of the day, the Badgers produced the first score of the day. On first and ten at the twenty, Dayne began his quest for the record with a 12 yard run. On second and eight, Bollinger connected with Chambers for a gain of 33 yards. Six plays later Bollinger capped off the drive with a four yard pass to Chad Kunz for a TOUCHDOWN. Pisetsky converted the point after and the Badgers led 7-0.
The Hawkeyes offense stalled again, and punted right back to the Badgers after three plays. Following a punt, the Badgers took over at the 27. On first down, Dayne drew 3 yards closer to the record. Next play, Bollinger scrambled off left tackle for a 31 yard gain to give the Badgers a first down at the 34. Dayne carried the next two plays for gains of 9 and 3 yards. With a first down at the 22, Bollinger and Kunz connected again, this time for a gain of 21 yards to set the Badgers up with first and goal at the 1. Next DAYNE ran it in for the TOUCHDOWN.
Iowa blocked the extra point, and closed out the first quarter with the start of drive.
Early in the second quarter, the Hawkeyes would score their only points of the game on a 22 yard field goal from Greg Mcglauglin to make the score 13-3.
On their next drive, the Badgers would increase the lead further to 20-3, and DAYNE would get a BIG GAIN of 37 yards to get him within 23 yards of the record. The score occurred on second and eight at the 24. Bollinger passed deep down field to Chambers who caught the pass for a TOUCHDOWN. On the next series, Iowa kept the ball again for just three plays before punting back to Wisconsin.
The Badgers and Ron Dayne took over at the 17.

DAYNE began padding his NEW RECORD with runs of 5-14-and 3 yards on the next several plays. The Badgers capped off the drive, as Bollinger hit Chambers for his second TOUCHDOWN catch of the game. The half ended with Dayne having broken the record, and the Badgers having broken the Hawkeyes backs with a 27-3 lead.
The Badgers opened the third quarter with an impressive drive that saw DAYNE run for gains of 7-- 38--- and 2 yards. It was stopped,when Bollinger tried sneaking it up the middle on fourth and one, at the one. Iowa however, was unable to move the ball, and punted right back to the Badgers. Bollinger directed them to the next score in just eight plays as he scored on a third and goal play from the 2. The third quarter ended with the Badgers leading 34-3.
With the Badgers well in control and with Dayne having BUSTED the record, Dayne and Bollinger relaxed on the sidelines, for most of the fourth quarter. Senior Quarterback Scott Kavanaugh directed the Badgers to their final score of the day. After Eddie Faulkner gained 16 yards to give Wisconsin a first and goal at the six, Kavanaugh waltzed into the endzone for the score on fourth and goal. Pisetsky kicked the extra point and the Badgers posted up the FINAL SCORE OF: Wisconsin 41
